Your contacts

On the website, your browser reads the contact file you choose and creates the calendar. Tend does not receive that file, the names and numbers in it, your relationship groups or your calendar contents. Contacts and detected birthdays may be kept in session storage so a refresh does not wipe your progress. Browser session storage normally ends with the tab or session; browser restore settings can affect this.

Notes and meaningful dates

Notes and meaningful dates stay in your active browser session. Notes are left out of calendar files unless you choose to include them. If you include a note, anyone or any service with access to that calendar may be able to read it.

Saved settings and recovery files

Your groups, schedule settings and reminder records are stored in your browser so you can return to them. Clearing saved website data removes those records. Keep your downloaded recovery files somewhere safe; clearing browser data does not remove events you have already imported into a calendar.

If your saved reminder record is still available, Tend can create a separate calendar file when you add someone later. The removal file supplied with that addition applies to the new reminders, not the earlier ones.

After you import a calendar

The .ics file is created on your device. Tend does not receive a copy. Once you import it, your calendar provider handles the events under its own privacy settings and terms. People who can see that calendar may also see the reminder details.

These are calendar files, not a live subscription. The website cannot automatically move or remove imported events. Any future hosted synchronisation would be a separate, optional service with an explanation of what is stored, how long it is kept and how to delete it. Local reminders will not silently become a hosted service.

Confirming a call

Tend does not read your call history or check whether a conversation happened. On the web, the generic completion page saves a count in that browser when you confirm a call. It does not send Tend the person’s name, number or call history.

In the iPhone and iPad app

You choose which contacts Tend can access, or add a person yourself. The app uses local notifications for reminders. Notes, plans and the activity you confirm are kept on your device. Sharing a plan, making a call, opening WhatsApp or adding an event to Calendar passes the relevant details to the service you choose. Their privacy settings then apply.

When you send feedback

The feedback form sends your rating, selected answers and any comment you write to Tend’s database. It does not ask for your name or email. Please leave out contact names, phone numbers and private calendar details. A comment can still identify you if you put identifying information in it.

The existing calendar-report form can also collect the calendar provider, steps that worked or failed, a confidence score, an issue category and written details. You choose whether to send a report. Reports are not collected automatically or made publicly readable.

Optional email updates and Siri

If you sign up for product updates in the app, Tend sends your email address and consent information to its subscription service. Signing up is optional and does not send your contacts, notes or birthdays.

The app makes reminder names and times available to its Siri integration. Phone numbers and private notes are excluded from that snapshot. If you use Siri, Apple’s handling of your voice request and Siri data also applies.

Website requests

The live website counts calendar downloads as an aggregate number. The count does not include contact names or calendar contents. Hosting infrastructure may process technical information such as IP addresses and page requests, including when you send feedback.

The live website is hosted on Vercel. Its privacy policy explains its handling of technical data. Local contact processing does not mean that visiting a website creates no server requests.
